Bohol’s Panglao Island

PANGLAO ISLAND, Bohol – The Province of Bohol and the rest of the Philippines have another achievement to celebrate over as Travel+Leisure, a prestigious travel magazine based in New York, USA, named Bohol’s Panglao Island as one of its top beach destinations in its article ‘Best Secret Beaches on Earth’.

In the article, Travel+Leisure mentioned that Panglao is home to the classy Ananyana Beach Resort & Spa, which occupies a prime spot on sand that stretches a mile long. At the resort, travelers will be pleased to find a unique lounge outfitted with rattan and abaca furniture, luxe thatched-roof huts that have large bamboo-framed beds and an alfresco restaurant that offers Filipino-Mediterranean dishes.

The magazine also noted that Panglao is a nice place for leisure activities like diving by the drop-off points of Balicasag Island, dolphin watching via a resort boat and having a sunset dinner at Puntod Island.

Philippines | Bohol


Another fantastic tourist spot in Philippines is Bohol. Bohol is an island province that is located in the heart of Visayas Region. Its capital is Tagbilaran City. With an area of 4117.3 square kilometers, Bohol was the 10th largest island in Philippines. Besides the beaches and resorts, Bohol was popular because of the chocolate hills and numerous mounds of limestone formations. Bohol was also the home of the world's smallest primate, the Philippine Tarsier.

Bohol Island is an oval-shaped mainland that are surrounded with 73 small islands. The interior uplands are good for agro-forestry and has a high value of agricultural production. There are over a hundred of caves that have been identified, the largest of them is found in the eastern part of Bohol.

Most of the beaches in Bohol are white sand. The white sand in Bohol are said to be exported to other beaches in the world. The most well known beaches are in Panglao Island, some of the islets are yet untouched and pristine beaches.

Loboc River is the most famous and it runs from the southeastern coast to the center of the island. Due to the River cruise, Loboc River was famous.
